The solutions include investing in building more service centers, transport ships, oil pipelines and storage, modernizing technology, developing management skills, and increasing international cooperation.

The unlisted PetroVietnam targets revenue of VND54.4 trillion ($3.4 billion) from services by 2010, 26.7% of the sector's total turnover.

Last year, the oil and gas sector earned more than VND27.6 trillion ($1.7 billion) from services, a year-on-year increase of 53%.

In the 2007 business plan, PetroVietnam will produce 128.3 million barrels of crude oil, down 1.17% on year, and 7.3 billion cubic meters of gas, up 4.1%. (VNA)
