Situated on hard ground, Nam Tan Uyen IZ is suitable for building industrial factories at low cost. The industrious local workforce can satisfy investor’s labour demand. The area’s environment supports luxurious rubber and cashew farms, as well as containing huge reserves of clay and kaolin. Furthermore, this area has favourable transport links, just 15 km from Thu Dau Mot Town and 22 km from Binh Duong and Dong Nai ports. Major roads linking Nam Tan Uyen IZ with urban zones and ports are DT743 and DT746, which will be upgraded to meet the development requirements of Tan Uyen District and Nam Tan Uyen IZ. The Nam Tan Uyen IZ has a total area of 330.5 ha. The first phase covering 206 ha will be completed in 2006-2007 with major services like traffic, water supply and drainage, electricity, lighting and telecom systems, ADSL line and fibre optic cables. The second phase covering 124.5 ha will be built in 2008-2009 including concentrated wastewater treatment, traffic, electricity, water and telecom systems.
Mr Le Xuan Hoe, General Director of Nam Tan Uyen Industrial Zone, said rentals in Nam Tan Uyen IZ are lower than those posted by regional industrial zones. The company also applies flexible payment methods, as well as easy-going land-leasing mechanisms.
At present, Nam Tan Uyen IZ has leased 26.7 ha of land to more than 17 investors and five possible ones. In 2007, the company will lease 50 ha. Nam Tan Uyen IZ encourages investment in forest and agricultural product processing, garment, textile, dyeing, handicraft wood production, furniture, household plastic items, electronics, mechanics and household electrical appliances, etc.
