Vietnam’s construction industry is integrating more deeply into the world, but construction methods are almost unchanged, mainly using monolit in construction works. It has proven very stable in the long term, but takes long time and money for transportation from factories to building sites. So, what are the alternatives?

Huynh Nguyen Phung Co. Ltd (HNP), previously Saigon Future Construction Co, became operational October 2, 2004. The company is staffed with professional, experienced and devoted engineers always reaching for the best scientific and technological applications. HNP specialises in providing solutions for prefabricated metal-framed houses and package services for industrial projects, factories, warehouses, stores, parking areas, supermarkets and others. HNP uses steel imported from Russia for its projects. The company is known as a professional contractor capable of carrying out projects in an effective and timely manner with the best quality. The scientific and flexible use of steel structures in construction projects ensures premium quality while maintaining lower cost and faster pace. Of course, consulting companies and customers have contributed to the success of the company. HNP provides free steel structure designs to investors and construction consulting companies to inform them of the efficiency of their projects in construction as well as in use. On the other hand, consulting companies and customers help HNP advertise the quality of steel structures to others. Last but not least, HNP offers value-added services and dedicated customer care for its partners.

From 1999 to 2005, HNP carried out many important projects like Quang Tri Manioc Factory in 2002, Taiwan’s electric motor production factory in Long Thanh Industrial Zone, Tu Hiep plastic pipe production factory in Long An Province, the arch ceiling system of the National Convention Centre in Hanoi in 2006, and the floor steel structure of PetroVietnam Building on Le Duan Street, Ho Chi Minh City in 2006. HNP has signed contracts to build a factory complex for Vinh Tuong Group specialising in manufacturing ceilings and apartment separators for Vietnamese and international markets. HNP leaders are very keen on and proud of this project because its design, quality and construction pace highlight the capability of the company. The project requires close coordination in project management and premium structure solutions to generate a unique harmony. In general, HNP products reflect the commitment of devoted project engineers who take care of even the smallest details in a big project.

To ensure long-term and sustainable development, HNP always pays attention to human resource development. Apart from paying high salaries, from VND1.8 million to VND9 million, the company is seeking to build accommodation and provide means of transport for staff, most of whom come from distant localities. HNP wants their staff to feel a family atmosphere at the workplace. Thanks to diversified relationships with numerous traditional and potential customers, the operations of the company are always ensured. In addition, the company also manages and assesses staff activities by independent software and applying regulations. As a result, the staff understand their responsibilities as well as the general working style.

With its effort, 2006 revenues doubled from 2005. HNP targets to maintain an annual growth rate above 30 per cent from now until 2009. To realise the target, HNP must generate large values for its customers and introduce the best cost management measures.

When Vietnam joined the World Trade Organisation (WTO), experts forecast the Vietnamese real estate market would heat up. Real estate demand for houses, factories and offices should soar. Especially, market activity is expected to increase with project transfer transactions and increasing cooperation between domestic project owners and foreign investors. More and more steel structure projects will be erected, with potential for the HNP trademark to become even more popular and successful.
