Could you please briefly introduce something about Tomboy Vietnam?
Tomboy Aquafeed Ltd is an international company with 30 year- experience in marine animal nutrition and feed processing for both fish and shrimp. This company was established in 2001 the first factory in HCMC dedicated exclusively to manufacturing high quality shrimp feed.

After 5 years of operation, with 30 000 Mts of capacity, Tomboy Aquafeed Ltd is today one of the first producers of shrimp feed in Vietnam with more than 20,000 Mts of shrimp feed sold in 2006. Besides producing high quality of aqua feed, Tomboy offer several services and technology transfer to shrimp and fish farmers.

Have you faced any difficulties in the process of operation?
The secret of our success is being the first to manufacture exclusively, without compromise, high quality feed with excellent global management of quality. Each raw material ingredient has criteria of selection and is checked in the laboratory before formulation and processing. Our formulations are, of course, continuously optimized and updated for the best performance for the farmer and in respect to food safety.

We also offer various services, through conference, seminars and technical assistance with around 100 well trained engineers in aquaculture, in the fields of shrimp and fish culture, and disease management.

What do you want to achieve in the future with Tomboy Vietnam?
We are very enthusiastic and we will continue to participate in the fast growing aquaculture of Vietnam, through new investments in the field of manufacturing with modern technology, producing high quality feed both for marine and fresh water Fish. Of course, beside these main activities, we will continue to help the farmer through technology transfer for better pond management, with better control of pond water quality and environment, and safety of seafood products.

What should Vietnamese entrepreneurs do to stand firm in the local market after WTO?
Of course, in the globalisation of world trade, you must be always competitive, know your strengths and weaknesses, and always reconsider your position and update your skills in order to stay in competition.
Entrepreneurs are always facing new challenges to achieve, and the ability to surmount these challenges is what allows the maintenance of a leadership position in the market.
