Vietnam's ODA Disbursement Reported at US$373Mln in First Quarter
Vietnam has disbursed US$373 million in Official Development Assistance (ODA) for projects nationwide in the first three months this year, state media said.
Of the sum, almost US$324 million came from soft loans and the remaining from non-refundable aid. The assistance from large institutional organizations namely the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), accounts for up to 77 per cent of the total.
Aid donors have committed a total US$320 million in ODA capital between January and March this year.
The Southeast-Asian country is expected to receive combined pledged capital of US$12.35-15.7 billion in the 2006-2010 phase, representing a remarkable increase compared with US$8 billion from 2001 to 2005.
Disbursed ODA capital is expected to stand between US$11.46 billion and US$12.41 billion in the 2006-2010 phase. (VNA)
