Vietnam to Equitize 6 Industrial Corps
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung April 17 approved restructuring plans for state-owned enterprises under the Industry Ministry between 2007 and 2008.
Under the plan six industrial corporations, including Saigon Beer, Alcohol & Beverage Corp. (Sabeco), Hanoi Beer, Alcohol & Beverage Corp. (Habeco) and Vietnam Industry & Construction Corp, will be equitized within this year.
The remaining corporations, such as Electric & Technical Equipment Corp, Agriculture & Hydraulic Corp and Industrial Machinery & Equipment Corp, will be equitized in 2008.
These corporations are among around 20 state-owned enterprises set to be equitized this year.
In the 2007-2010 period, Vietnam will equitize 53 state-run corporations. (Liberated Saigon, Labor)
