Incomfish to Build Two New Seafood Plants
The Investment, Commercial and Fisheries Joint Stock Company, or Incomfish, has signed a VND320 billion (USUS$20 million) contract to set up two seafood processing plants in southern Dong Thap province.
The plants will cover 8.5ha, with 120ha reserved for fish-breeding ponds. The plants will be built in two phases.
In the first phase, a 4ha, VND120-billion processing plant will be constructed with daily output capacity of 400 tons. The second plant, covering 4.5ha, will have an output capacity of 50 tons and will be erected the following year.
Operation of the fish-raising ponds has already been handed over to Asia Commercial Seafood Co, in which Incomfish holds 50 per cent stake.
Asia Commercial will supply the processing plants with 40,000 tons of fish a year.
In 2007, Incomfish plans to increase its chartered capital from VND118 billion (USUS$7.4 million) to VND168 billion (USUS$10.5 million). (VNS)
