Bill Gates Visits Vietnam for Charity Purposes

Unlike the widely publicized visit in April 2006, Microsoft president Bill Gates required a secret reception on his second visit to Vietnam on April 1, 2007.

He and his wife, Melinda Gates, stayed in Vietnam three days to carry out charity activities funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Fund. Bill Gates met leaders of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the Ministry of Finance to discuss sponsorship to Vietnam. Bill Gates visited two healthcare centres in Dong Anh District, Hanoi and several other places.

Bill Gates also worked with the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology to discuss a vaccination programme sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Fund.
