EVN to Sell Stakes in 24 Units
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on April 3 signed a decision regarding equitisation of affiliated units under Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) in 2007 and 2008. Under the plan, EVN will sell stakes in its 24 affiliated units, but retain controlling shares.
Five units will be equitised in 2008, including EVN Telecom, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant, Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant, Hanoi Power Co, and Ho Chi Minh City Power Co.
In another development, EVN will send the plans establishing the EVN Finance Company and Electrical Buying and Selling Company to the Prime Minister for approval.
