US Businesspeople Come to Hanoi for Investment Opportunities
A delegation of US businesspeople has arrived in Hanoi to study investment fields, especially in the city’s real estate and hotel services, as well as seek investment opportunities for overseas Vietnamese businessmen.
At the meeting with Hanoi People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Quoc Trieu on April 19, the mission was presented information on Hanoi's development plans.
Trieu hoped the delegation will select suitable projects to invest in, contributing to the city's development.
Hanoi has a goal of luring $1.5 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) for over 200 projects this year, said Trieu Dinh Phuc, director of the municipal Department of Planning and Investment, at a press briefing in Hanoi on January 5.
US investment in Vietnam may double in 2006, from the 2005 figure of $4 billion, local media quoted US Ambassador Michael Marine saying at a press conference on Vietnam-US relations in Hanoi in December last year.
The US is also expected to be the most promising investor in Vietnam in the time to come. (VNA)
