Vietnam Economic Forum to Open Today

The Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam News Agency and the Asianews Network (ANN) co-chaired the Vietnam Economic Forum entitled “Regional Integration and Modernization” Monday April 23 in Ho Chi Minh City.
 
The event aims to discuss measures boosting Vietnam’s integration into regional and world economies.
 
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung is expected to deliver a very important speech, and hold dialogue with about 500 representatives and officials from multi-national groups from Europe and Asia.
 
The conference is of great importance in creating more opportunities to introduce Vietnam’s stable investment environment to foreign investors, promulgating achievements of the Renewal (Doi Moi) process, and initiating a new investment wave into Vietnam, Phan Huu Thang, Head of MPI’s Foreign Investment Department emphasized.
 
Pana Janviroj, President of the National Group of Thailand and CEO of ANN said the forum is a significant event, which discusses the prospects of Vietnam’s economy, changes of its economic ties with other regional economies, and development orientations in Asia.
 
The Chinese, Thai and Malaysian delegations are among the largest ones, along with participation of Singapore’s Minister in charge of trade and industry, Asian Development Bank director, director of IBM ASEAN, President of New Hope of China, Regional Director of Swiss Holcim, General Director of Amata Group of Thailand, said the organizing committee.
