Vietnam Sets Up Guiding Committee for Big Japan-Funded Projects
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung signed a decision to set up a coordination committee for three big infrastructure projects in Vietnam, funded by the Japanese government, according to local newspapers.
The projects include the North-South high-speed railway, North-South expressway, and Hoa Lac hi-tech park in Hanoi.
The Vietnam-Japan Joint Coordination Committee will be co-chaired by Vietnamese Minister for Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc, and Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Norio Hattori.
The committee will get information, mobilize investment and guide implementation of the key projects.
The Japanese government pledged to help Vietnam borrow capital for these projects during Dung’s Japan visit in October last year. (Vietnam Economic Times)
