Petrosetco Signs Framework Agreement with Nokia

PetroVietnam Tourism and Services Joint Stock Co. (Petrosetco) signed a framework agreement with Nokia at Sheraton Saigon Hotel May 28, 2007, becoming a new Nokia distributor in Vietnam.

 

To be named a Nokia distributor, Petrosetco set up an affiliate, PetroVietnam Telecom (PV Telecom). Licensed for operation from April 2007, PV Telecom carefully developed a nationwide distribution network supported by eight branch offices in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Vinh, Da Nang, Buon Me Thuot, Nha Trang and Can Tho cities. PV Telecom will sell the first Nokia mobile phones from May 2007 in southern provinces, and throughout the country in June 2007.

Nokia representative Mauro Montanaro said the objective of Petrosetco is to build PV Telecom into an influential and competitive distributor of cell phones in Vietnam before Vietnam opens its distribution market for foreign firms in 2009 under WTO entry commitments.
