“The World Bank wants to reaffirm its commitment to support Vietnam in its good governance to address the development challenges ahead,” Mr Martin Rama, Acting Country Director for the World Bank in Vietnam affirmed May 25 in the wake of a successfully resolved crisis surrounding World Bank leadership.

The WB has provided US$6 billion in interest-free credits and grants to help Vietnam sustain economic growth and reduce poverty. The support spans across sectors, from infrastructure to rural development, to health. The WB also promotes research activities, in cooperation with government, universities and research centres, and actively participates policy dialogue with the government of Vietnam.
