6,000 Foreign Investors Join in Vietnam Stock Market

Vietnam’s stock watchdogs have provided securities transaction codes to about 6,000 foreign investors as of late June, Vietnam Securities Depository Center (VSD) reported Monday.
 
From May 2006 to June 2007 alone, the center issued the codes to 4,000 foreign individuals and 270 institutions.
 
Statistics showed that foreign investors have invested 68 per cent of their total investment into shares of listed companies, 25 per cent in listed bonds and 7 per cent in the unlisted bonds and shares.
 
On the listed market, foreign investors currently have about 49 per cent, the maximum limit allowed, in a number of shares including REE, AGF, CII, BT6, GIL, GMD, IFS, SAM, TDH, TMS, TYA, VNM and VFMVF1.
 
Several big foreign investors are appreciated in Vietnam market such as Dragon Capital, VinaCapital, Indochina Capital, IDG Vietnam, PXP Vietnam, City Group, HSBC, JP Morgan and Deutsch AG. (Securities Investment)
