Bach Dang Shipyard Launches 22,500-DWT Ship
Bach Dang Shipbuilding Industry Company launched a 22,500-DWT ship on July 28 in Haiphong City, which will be delivered to the Vietnam National Shipping Lines, the largest shipping firm in Vietnam.
The VTC Dragon is measured 153.2 m in length and 26 m in breadth and is powered 6,230-KW Japanese-made engine to reach 14.5 miles per hour.
The ship is designed by Vinakita Co., a joint venture between Vietnam’s Vinashin and Japan’s Kitada, and is supervised by Vietnamese and Japanese registration agencies.
After the launch of the VTC Dragon, Bach Dang Shipyard starts construction on another 22,500-DWT ship, the fifth of a series of 32 ships built for Vinalines by Vinashin which is also the administer of Bach Dang Shipyard. (VNA)
