Truong Hai Auto to Build New Car Plant in Central Region

Truong Hai Auto has obtained a permit to build a car production plant in Chu Lai Economic Zone, said Chu Lai EZ Authority.
 
The auto factory, expected to cost VND1.2 trillion (US$75 million), will produce 10,000 cars a year.
 
Kia and Karens, which are made by South Korean technologies, will be the first to roll off in the plant which lies in Tam Hiep industrial zone of Quang Nam province.
 
Truong Hai Auto will turn out the first products in early 2008, said the authority.
 
Truong Hai Auto is now running two car production complexes, one in Chu Lai (25,000 automobiles a year) and another in Dong Nai Province.
 
The private-run carmaker sold 5,433 in the first half seven months this year, up 92 per cent on year. (Investment)
