Vinashin Starts Building Port, Industrial Complex in Haiphong
Vietnam’s largest shipbuilder Vinashin Business Group kicked off the construction on a port and industrial complex worth VND2.5 trillion (US$156.25 million) in northern Haiphong City on August 01.
The Vinashin Dinh Vu complex, covering 260.3 ha in Dong Hai commune, Hai An distirct, will be built by Vinashin’s affiliate, Pha Rung shipyard.
The VND1 trillion (US$62.5 million) Dinh Vu Industrial Zone, covering 239.2 ha, consists of warehouses, factories and working offices.
Vinashin Dinh Vu Port is designed to process 7 million tons of goods a year, comprising four wharves stretching 630 m long and 20m wide.
The Vinashin Dinh Vu port will meeting the soaring volume of commodities via northern ports, a Vinashin official said. (Vietnam & World Economy)
