Vietnam, Czech Republic Sign US$3.5Bln Contracts

Seven economic deals totaling US$3.5 billion were signed between Vietnamese and Czech enterprises September 13 during the visit by Prime Minister Nguyen tan Dung, local media said.
 
They include a US$3-billion coal-fired power plant project, a US$150-million and a US$200-million cement factories inked after the Vietnam-Czech Business Forum with the presence of Vietnamese PM and his Czech counterpart, Mirek Topolanek.
 
At the forum attended by 300 businesses from the two countries, PM Dung pledged Vietnam will do its best create favorable conditions for foreign investors, including Czech companies.
 
In response, PM Topolanek highly appreciated Vietnam’s rapid growth and urged Czech enterprises to boost operations in the Southeast-Asian country.
 
To date, investors from Czech Republic poured US$40 million into 11 operational projects in Vietnam. (VNA, People’s Army)
