HCM City Plans US$195.18 Mln Power Development in 2006-10

Ho Chi Minh City has intended to inject VND3.12 trillion (US$195.18 million) in municipal electricity development plan between 2006 and 2010 and vision 2015, local Department of Industry said September 17.
 
The investment will facilitate the building of average-and low-voltage power grids with a total length of 2,000 kilometers.
 
The city will also place underground over 560 kilometers of power lines, installing 185,789 galvanometers and build hundreds of transformer stations.
 
Work will be mainly conducted in District 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and Binh Thanh, Binh Tan, Phu Nhuan, Thu Duc, Go Vap and Nha Be districts.
 
Vietnam’s power sector needs VND636 trillion (39.75 billion) in total to develop power infrastructure in the 2006-2010 period, requiring about VND250 trillion (US$15.625 billion) to complete 25 power plants. (Icon)
