The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) has licensed low cost carrier (LCC) Nok Air to fly to Vietnam from November 1 this year.

This is the second Thailand no-frills airline allowed to run in Vietnam following Air Asia.

The airline will run two flights daily between Bangkok and Hanoi, by Boeing 737-400 and Boeing 737-800 aircrafts.

It also plans to open no-frills flights between Bangkok and HCM City in the fourth quarter of this year.

Nok Air, built in 2004, is a part of the Thai Airways International. From November 2007, it will be the fifth Thailand airlines flying to Vietnam, including Thais AirAsia, Thais Airway, Bangkok Airways, and One-Two-Go Airlines. (Transport)
