State President to Visit Austria, Norway

Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet will lead a high-profile delegation to visit Austria and Norway from October 12-18, said Vu Tien Loc, chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

 

Loc made the announcement at a meeting with the Norwegian Ambassador in Vietnam September 12 to prepare for the President’s upcoming visit to the foreign country, slated for October 14-18.

 

He said about 70 businessmen will accompany Triet to boost the cooperation with Norway partners in key fields including oil and gas, marine transportation, shipbuilding, information and technology, telecommunication, garments and textiles, footwear, banking and finance, insurance, and infrastructure.

 

While in Norway, Triet is scheduled to pay visits to some leading enterprises.

 

Loc also proposes the ambassador to organize Vietnam-Norway business forums on the occasion, in order to facilitate both sides’ businesses exchange experiences and seek the investment opportunity.

 

Prior to the Norway visit, President Triet will pay an official visit to Austria from October 12-14. (Financial Times)
