SOTICO trademark of Song Tien Trading Company, Ltd. has become familiar to consumers and expanded into international markets with a full range of prestigious, high quality seafood products.
SOTICO was formed in 1994 under the leadership of experienced female director Nguyen Thi Anh. Since the start of operations, Anh has worked to complete international-standard food safety regulations, applying HACCP in production. At the same time, the company invested in a synchronous facilities system with modern technology and training for its staff. These efforts have helped SOTICO’s processed aquatic products pass the strict investigation of the EU inspectorate and officially “meet requirements to be exported.” SOTICO is among the few enterprises satisfying requirements to export two-shell molluscs to EU markets. As a result, after two years of operation, the SOTICO trademark is known in many countries in the world such as Italy, France, Spain, Poland, Belgium, Switzerland and the US, and is first among the 18 Vietnamese seafood producers in EU exporters list.
Vietnam’s official WTO membership brings a series of business opportunities for local enterprises. Ms Anh has made great effort in investing in equipment, facilities and qualified human resources to promote SOTICO’s development. She poured VND22 billion into building a fish, shrimp, crab and cuttlefish canning factory, developing intensive catfish material areas and a processing plant with an aim of diversifying products and increasingly improving quality. She believed that her company’s products would enter international markets, especially demanding importers. Therefore, SOTICO’s diversified products have occupied stable markets including Italy, France, Poland, Spain, Belgium and Greece. Apart from clams, previously their key product, SOTICO also processes cuttlefish, shrimp, cockles, herring, tuna and tra catfish which have become world famous.
SOTICO’s current achievements have been attributed to the great efforts of the female director, Ms Anh. Thanks to her effective development strategies and policies, Anh has led the company forward, with export earnings of this year higher than last year. In 2006, SOTICO’s export turnover reached US$14 million. The figure is expected to reach US$15 million this year.
With business achievements which greatly contributed to the development of the aquatic product processing industry, Song Tien Trading Company, Ltd. was granted the grade-three Labour Medal and many merit certificates from the Prime Minister, the province’s People’s Committee and related industries. Company leader Anh was awarded the 7th National Emulator. SOTICO’s high-quality and diversified products are expected to further reach international markets in the future.
