Japan Ready to Help Vietnam Develop Supporting Industry - JETRO
Japan is willing to help Vietnam develop its supporting industry, which is considered a momentum for the country’s industrialization and modernization, said an official of the Japan External Trade Organization.
Vietnam has great potential to develop the industry thanks to the increased demand for components and spare parts from foreign companies, JETRO’s vice president Tomoharu Washio pledged this at a meeting with Vietnamese President Triet in Hanoi November 13.
Vietnam should try to improve its business climate to attract more foreign investors, which will help facilitate its supporting industry, he noted.
For his part, Triet hailed JETRO’s initiative in holding the second Vietnam-Japan Supporting Industry Exhibition to help Japanese businesses in Vietnam to learn about the market demand and seek for more local partners.
The Vietnamese President also called for more supports from JETRO in dealing with traffic jams in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Washio is leading a delegation of 100 Japanese companies in the areas of hi-tech and supporting industries on a visit to Vietnam from November 11-15 to promote investment and trade ties.
The two-day event opened in Hanoi November 13, which is among the delegation’s major activities during the stay in Vietnam.
The event co-organized by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) are showcasing products of automobile, motorbike, electricity, electronics, engineering, chemicals and IT from 128 Vietnamese and Japanese businesses. (Saigon Liberation, VNA)
