Central Region to Get US$80 Mln Garment Plant

Phong Phu Corp., an affiliate of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex), has broken ground for a clothing plant capitalized at US$80 million in central Quang Tri province.
 
The new facility, set to cover 20,000 square meters of land, will be equipped with 20 sewing lines to make 3.5 million kaki cotton trousers each year.
 
All products from the plant will be exported to the U.S. and the European Union (EU).
 
The project is scheduled to be completed in ten months. When operational, the factory is expected to generate 1,000 jobs for local residents. (Investment)
