Vietnam reportedly consumed nearly 36.06 million tons in 2007, an on-year rise of 13 per cent, said the Vietnam Cement Association.

Cement producers in the country turned out 36.16 million tons in the year, surpassing the yearly target by 2 per cent, the association added.

At present, prices of reverter-furnace cement range between VND810,000-855,000/ton in the north and the central region, and between VND878,000-978,000/ton in the south.

Cement prices are forecast to continue rising in the first quarter of 2008 due to a hike of 50-70 per cent in coal prices in the coming time. (Investment)
