UK Secretary of State for Business, Enterprises and Regulatory Reform Visits Vietnam

The Right Honourable John Hutton, MP, Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform is paying an official visit to Vietnam from June 2-3, 2008.
 
The two-day visit will help the Secretary of State familiarise himself with British trade and investment activities in Vietnam and hear first hand from the Vietnamese Government the policies they have in place to further encourage market access and investment.
 
On June 2, Mr Hutton calla on HE Mr Nguyen Tan Dung, Vietnamese Prime Minister to discuss local and international trade and investment matters as well as call on the Ministry of Industry and Trade to learn about Vietnam's progress on implementing WTO commitments. The Secretary of State will also meet with a number of UK business representatives while in Hanoi.
 
The Secretary of State on June 3 plans to have an exchange session on free trade with students at the Hanoi University of Foreign Trade. Mr Hutton will also hold a press conference with local and international press and media.
 
Mr John Hutton is the highest cabinet level visitor to Vietnam to date. The visit re-affirms the importance that the UK places onto Vietnam as one of its 17 emerging markets.
