Vietnam to Help Panama Improve Rice Cultivation
The first group of Vietnamese agricultural experts will leave for Panama in July or August to provide rice cultivation and aquaculture advice to this Central American country, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
A Panamanian delegation will also visit to Vietnam in September to learn the Southeast Asian country’s experiences in the fields, the “Panama Star” reported Panama’s Agriculture Minister Guillermo Salazar as saying.
The Panamanian official, who has been on a visit to Vietnam, said Panama is the biggest rice-consuming country per capita in Latin America, so it is necessary to boost rice production in the country.
The newspaper also reported that Vietnam has become one of the most important aquaculture exporters in the world and the second largest rice exporter. (VNA)
