Vietnam, Canada Need to Enhance Trade, Edu Ties, Exchanges of Youths

Vietnam and Canada should beef up bilateral cooperation in education, trade, investment and exchanges of visits by the two nations’ youths and legislators in the coming time, said the visiting parliamentarian Bryon Wilfert August 25.
 
Bryon Wilfert, who is Chairman of the Canada-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group, made the statement at a reception in Hanoi given by President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Vu Xuan Hong.
 
General Secretary of the Vietnam-U.S. Friendship Association, Hoang Cong Thuy and staffs from the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam also attended the reception.
 
Chairman Hong highly spoken of the Canadian parliamentarian’s visit, which is being paid just at the moment the two countries are celebrating the 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties. 
 
The bilateral two way trade reached US$1 billion last year. The foreign country is ranking the third regarding FDI in Vietnam, with the registered capital of more than US$6 billion. (Website of CPV)
