U.S. Deputy Secretary to Visit Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John D. Negroponte will pay a visit to Vietnam, Cambodia and Hong Kong Sept 10 to 18 to discuss bilateral and international issues with partners, the state-run Labor newspaper said on September 4.
 
Deputy Secretary of State John D. Negroponte will hold talks with related partners of Vietnam, Cambodia and Hong Kong, the newspaper said.
 
Recently, John Negroponte said at the Brookings Institution that the bilateral ties between Vietnam and the U.S. have seen a new chapter open with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen’s visit to the U.S. and President Bush’s visit to Vietnam in 2006 for APEC summit held in Hanoi.
 
The U.S. government will increase humanitarian aids for Vietnam in the coming time thru the Vietnam Fatherland Front, one of a few public agencies in Vietnam, the U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Michael Michalak told Huynh Dam, chairman of VFF. (Labor)
