Chinese, Vietnamese Firms Sign US$20.88 Mln Deal for Nho Que Power Plant

Vietnamese Nho Que Hydropower Joint Stock Company under the BITEXCO Group and Chinese Chongquing Machinery & Minerals Export Import Company December 2 clinched an agreement worth US$20.88 million to provide equipment for Nho Que 3 hydropower plant.
 
Under the 20-month contract, the Chinese company will supply and install electro-mechanical and telecom devices for the 110-MW plant.
 
Kicked off in March this year in Lung Pu and Son Vi communes, Meo Vac district, northern mountainous Ha Giang province, the plant is expected to generate 466.64 million kWh of electricity annually when fully operational in October, 2010.
 
BITEXCO has to date invested US$600 million in 13 hydropower projects with a combined capacity of 500 MW such as Eakrong, Rou, Nam Mu, Se San 3A, Binh Dien, and Ho Ho. Of the total, Eakrong, Rou, and Nam Mu plants came into operation. (Vietnam Economic Times)
