Turbine 2 of A Vuong Power Plant to be Operated Late This Year
A Vuong Hydropower Joint Stock Company under the state-owned Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) is speeding up works to operate 105-MW turbine 2 of A Vuong hydropower plant in late this year.
Turbine 1 of the plant was put into operation in late last month and has to date generated 100 million kWh of power.
Kicked off in August, 2003 in Ma Coih commune, Dong Giang district, the 210-MW plant costing VND3.9 trillion (US$236.36 million) is expected to turn out 815 million kWh of power per annum once fully operational.
Infrastructure Development and Construction Corp (Licogi), Hydraulic Construction Corporation No. 4 (Hyco4), Lung Lo Construction Company, and Lilama 45.3 Joint Stock Company are responsible for building the two-turbine plant while Japanese Sumitomo Group, Russian Power Machine, Japanese Melco, and Vietnam Machinery Installation Group (Lilama) for supplying equipments for the plant.
