Costa El Silva, Global Director General of Siemens Home Communications, has arrived in Vietnam. He has an interview with Vietnam Business Forum reporter Giang Tu about Siemens' product and distribution development strategy in Vietnam.
Your visit to Vietnam this time is aimed at introducing Siemens' breakthrough technology Gigaset. What makes you believe in successes in this market?
I have reliable reasons to believe in the success of Gigaset products in South-east Asia as well as in Vietnam. Firstly, Gigaset has superior functions that have already conquered even the picky markets thanks to friendly usage, harmonious design, new services, perfect sound quality, energy economy, friendliness and environment protection. Therefore, Gigaset has won many noble prizes such as Award for product quality by Mobile News and Connect Testsieger magazines offered to models SL 375, C475, AL 145…; Award for friendly usage by SATVISION offered to M451; Prize of Reddot and iF designs for SL 370, S670/675, S680/680; Prize of creating new functions by Empjehlung de Connect and Netherlands PCM magazines offered to S680; and many other prizes.
Moreover, I found enormous potentials from the South-east Asian market in general and Vietnam in particular. Your development over the past years is nothing other than "impressive". I knew that the telephone market in Vietnam was quite lively with the first rank belonging to Panasonic and it would be hard for us and our distributor TID (Trade Investment and Development Ltd. Company) to launch this product into the market. However, with our objectives and experience and TID's ability, I believe that you will hear about Gigaset Siemens over the next one or two years and we will lead the market over the next three years.
Siemens has decided to select TID as the official distributor. What do you think about the development potential of Siemens - TID association?
Siemens always works with the biggest and most reliable distributor in each market. In Vietnam, we have had contacts with different distributors, but we found that TID was really professional, reliable and full of potentials. This is shown in their annual growth rate and wonderful distribution system. Therefore, I fully believe in successes brought by the cooperation between Siemens and TID in Vietnam.
What benefits will Vietnamese consumers receive from this cooperation?
I think TID with over 15 years of experience in technology and telecommunication and a large network of more than 2,000 agents nationwide will help our products get to the consumers most quickly and efficiently. We with successful experience in many markets and a foundation of advanced technology will assist TID in improving their distribution system and coordinating in promotion programmes and after-sale service. I feel with confidence that the perfect association between Siemens and TID will provide Vietnamese consumers with products of best quality and services.
