VNPT Makes +US$3 Bln Revenues in 2008, up 17.5 per cent On Year

The Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on December 29 announced its revenue of over US$3 billion in 2008, up 17.5 per cent on year.
 
In 2008, the group contributed VND6.85 trillion (US$401.2 million) to state budget and reported more than 20.2 new telephone users.
 
VNPT group has invested US$1 billion to develop broadband services and next generation networks of 300 Gbps this year and next year with an aim to serve an additional 1.5 million Internet ADSL subscribers.
 
Currently, VNPT is applying the NGN and developing the optical cable infrastructure networks to help expand broadband services and build e-government in Vietnam.
 
VNPT will develop a uniform 3G and install 5,000 new base transmission stations throughout the country to provide IP services via Internet, PocketPC to serve prestigious restaurants, banks, aviation and IPs. (Labor)
