Vietnam PM OKs US$1 Bln from US$6 Bln Stimulus Package for HCMC Projects
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has agreed to funnel US$1 billion from the US$6 billion economic-stimulus packages to ongoing investment projects in Ho Chi Minh City-the biggest economic hub, the newswire vnexpress.net has said.
PM Dung also has given a nod to the city authorities to issue US$1 billion bonds to raise funds for investment projects and requested the city play a key role in averting economic slowdown.
The city has set a target of achieving GDP growth rate of over 10 per cent.
The city has lured US$8.65 billion FDI, more than triple of last year. (www.vnexpress.net)
