Japan’s DDK Starts Work on US$25-Mln Plant in South Vietnam
The wholly Japanese-invested DDK Vietnam Co. Ltd February 17 kicked off construction of a computer cable plant worth US$25 million in the southern province of Binh Duong.
DDK Vietnam, located on a 3-hectare site in the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park II (VSIP II), is expected to be operational in October this year and generate 500 jobs.
This is the DDK Electronics Joint Stock Company’s fourth factory besides one in Thailand and two in China.
So far this year, Binh Duong province has licensed 12 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects capitalized at US$49 million, brining its total FDI project number to more than 1,800 worth US$11 billion.
Among 40 countries and territories making investment in the southern locality, Taiwan, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia are being the biggest. (Vietnam Economic Times)
