Vietjet Air to Start 1st Flight in Q4 2009

The private airline Vietjet Air said it is preparing for the first flight in the fourth quarter of this year.
 
Vietjet Air is the first airline in Vietnam to receive a license in December 2007 with three main shareholders including Savico, T&C group and the HCM Housing Development Bank (HD).
 
The airline’s general director Nguyen Duc Tam said it will firstly offer service on Hanoi-HCMC and Hanoi-Danang routes and then expand operation to ASEAN market like Bangkok, Singapore and Malaysia and Asian like Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Japan.
 
Vietjet Air would have launched its first domestic flights late 2008. It had halted signing contract with the GECAS company to lease two Boeing 737-700s. (Vnexpress)
