Vietnam OKs 2nd Phase of National Trade Promotion Program

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has approved 54 national trade promotion programs in the second phase this year with a total investment of VND65.96 billion (US$3.9 million).
 
Twenty-four units will attend these programs focusing on processing and agro-forestry-fisheries industries.
 
Total funding for the first and second national trade promotion program this year has reached VND128.96 billion.
 
During the first phase, 44 trade promotion programs have been organized by 21 business associations and the ministry’s trade promotion agency including trade fairs and exhibitions abroad, market surveys, advertising campaigns for companies exporting seafood, processed wood, handicrafts, footwear, software and apparel.
 
These programs will target the U.S., Europe, Japan, China, Russia, Hong Kong, Dubai, and the Czech Republic.
 
This year, Vietnam aims to earn US$72 billion from exports, up 13 per cent against 2008. (Youth, Vietnam Economic Times)
