A recent survey by the World Vest Base has showed that the majority of Vietnamese businesses are confident of a better economic outlook over the next 12 months.

The survey, jointly conducted by the World Vest Base and PetroVietnam Finance Investment and Consultancy Co. interviewed CEOS and mangers of 150 local businesses.

The survey indicated that 51 per cent of the domestic firms operating in 11 key areas said they expect a better economic condition and will not cut back on their workforces in the next 12 months. Meanwhile, just 17 per cent said they have planned layoffs.

Most of CEOs and business managers believe that their revenues will increase in the upcoming year, said World Vest Base.

Additionally, 47 per cent of the interviewed businesses disclosed their plan to pour more capital into their businesses, while 35 per cent said they would keep the current investment.

The survey also found that 47 per cent of the enterprises are facing a serious shortage of capital for expansion. They hope the government’s measures to boost consumer demand, comprising reduction of interest rates on consumer and corporate loans.

A large part of respondents expect the interest rate would be adjusted to 5 per cent-8 per cent. (News, VNS)
