HCM City to Build 177 Supermarkets, 163 TradeCenters by 2015

Vietnam’s southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City will construct an addition 95 supermarkets and 141 trade centers from now until 2015 under the city’s market development plan during the period, the municipal Industry and Trade Service said April 14.
 
The upcoming establishments will bring the city’s total number of supermarkets and trade centers up to 177 and 163 by 2015, said the service.
 
The city will also reduce the number of traditional markets to 235 from the current 238, and pull down small markets in inner city and build more markets in suburban areas during the period.
 
Ho Chi Minh City will encourage investors from various economic sectors for the development of supermarkets and trade centers. (Labor)
