Vietnam Jan-Apr Apparel Exports +1.8 per cent at US$2.6 Bln
Vietnam is estimated to have earned US$2.59 billion from exporting textile and garment products in the first four months of this year, a slight increase of 1.8 per cent on year, said the General Statistics Office April 24.
In April, the sector’s export turnover is estimated at US$650 million, up 1.7 per cent on-month.
In the four-month period, Vietnam is forecast to have spent US$1.51 billion on importing cottons, textile fibers, and cloth.
Of the total, the country spent US$71 million on importing 54,000 ton of cottons (down 54 per cent on year in value and 47.8 per cent in volume), US$203 million for 140,000 tons of textile fibers (down 26.2 per cent in value and 2.9 per cent in volume), US$1.24 billion for cloth (down 7.7 per cent).
