Vietnam Jan-Apr Retail Sales, Services +21.5 per cent at US$21.32B
Vietnam is estimated to have obtained total retail sales and services revenues of VND360.4 trillion (US$21.32 billion) in the first four months of this year, up 21.5 per cent on year, the government's General Statistics Office reported.
Excluding price increase factor, Vietnam’s retail sales and services grow 7.4 per cent during the period.
In April, the figure stands at VND90 trillion (US$5.32 billion), up from VND88.46 trillion in March, said the GSO.
In Jan-Apr, the trade sector, the largest retailer, sees revenue up 22.2 per cent to VND282.6 trillion, equivalent to 78.4 per cent of the country's total retail sales.
The hotel and restaurant sector reports a revenue rise of 18.4 per cent to VND40.9 trillion and the service sector with an increase of 16.3 per cent to VND33 trillion. (GSO Apr 2009)
