Vietnam May CPI Likely Up 0.5 per cent: Market Regulators
Vietnam’s consumer price index is forecast to rise 0.5 per cent in May, according to the market watchdogs under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
CPI in April rose 0.35 per cent from a month earlier, which demonstrated that purchasing power is inching up, easing concerns over deflation, the market regulators noted.
March’s CPI was down 0.17 per cent, but up 1.17 per cent in Feb and rose 0.32 per cent in Jan, they said.
Economists expressed concerns about gloomy outlook of exports, which dropped 0.1 per cent on year to US$18.636 billion in the first four months. (Labor)
