Vietnam Apparel Exports to U.S. Reached US$1.76B in Jan-May

Vietnam’s export turnover of textiles and apparel to the U.S. market was estimated to have reached US$1.76 billion in the first five months, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said without on year comparative figures.
 
Despite the economic downturn, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Corporation (Vinatex) forecast that the U.S. would still remain Vietnam’s largest export market for apparel products this year, with an estimated turnover of US$5.5 billion.
 
The U.S.’s Customs’ statistics showed Vietnam’s market share of textiles and garments in the U.S. had widened to 4.47 per cent in the first quarter from 3.4 per cent of the same time last year. (Vietnam Economic Times)
