Vietnam Banks Make Soft Loans of VND331.906T Early Feb

Banks and financial companies in Vietnam had extended subsidized loans to VND331.906 trillion since early February, the State Bank of Vietnam, the country's central bank, said on June 8.

State-owned banks and people’s funds extended subsidized loans to VND240.032 trillion, commercial joint stock banks made soft loans of VND73.952 trillion, joint venture and foreign banks VND15.618 trillion and financial companies VND2.302 trillion.

Banks and financial companies lent VND53 trillion to state-owned companies, VND219.224 trillion to foreign-, private-invested firms, VND2.289 trillion to cooperatives and VND56.789 trillion to households and individuals.
 
Agribank, the biggest state-owned bank by assets, had made soft loans of VND85.52 trillion as of May 13, accounting for 30 per cent of the country’s soft loans by banks, followed by BIVD with VND44.766 trillion, Vietcombank with VND37.116 trillion, the Vietnam Bank Association said. (SBV)
