U.S, Vietnam Launch 2nd Political, Security and Defense Dialogue
Officials of the U.S. and Vietnam convened in Washington, D.C. June 8 for the second bilateral Political, Security and Defense Dialogue.
The dialogue, co-chaired by Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh and Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Greg Delawie, will discuss the bilateral cooperation in areas of peacekeeping operations and training, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, maritime security, anti-terrorism and narcotics, border security, and nonproliferation.
It is expected to enhance the understanding between the two countries on the above-mentioned issues, contributing to reinforce the Vietnam-U.S. relations towards peace and stability in the region.
