Vietnam Seafood Export Falls 10 per cent to US$1.3B in Jan-May
Vietnamese firms were estimated to have earned US$1.3 billion from seafood exports in the first five months this year, down 10 per cent on-year, the Vietnam Association for Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) said.
The export is forecast to continue falling for the decreasing purchase because banks cut down capital for goods reserve.
The seafood sector plans to earn US$4 billion from export in 2009, against US$4.5 billion it made last year.
Vietnam is now among top ten seafood exporters in the world, with products being exported to 150 countries and territories worldwide. (Vietnam Economic Times, Laborer)
