Vietnam Foreign Minister to Visit Romania
Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Affairs Minister of Vietnam Pham Gia Khiem will pay a visit to Romania soon, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) said on June 22.
During Khiem’s upcoming visit, the two countries are expected to sign an agreement on economic cooperation, Romanian foreign minister Cristian Diaconescu told the VNA’s reporter.
The Romanian minister also added other deals are expected to be signed to boost the bilateral relationship as well as to suit the two nations’ membership role of the EU and Asean bloc.
Vietnam and the eastern European nation will mark the two countries’ 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties nest year.
Two-way trade increased to US$44 million in 2007 from US$30 million during the 2000-2005 period. In the first half of 2008, the figure reached nearly US$35 million.
Around 3,000 Vietnamese students have graduated from Romanian universities so far. (News)
