Vietnam Wants to Beef up Maritime, Trade, Agro Ties with Panama: PM
Vietnam wants to build a deeper relationship with Panama in the fields of marine services, trade and agriculture which are areas of potential growth for both nations, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
The Vietnamese leader made his statement while receiving Panama’s outgoing Ambassador Lizia Zenaida Lu in Hanoi on June 15.
Dung highly valued Ambassador Lizia’s contributions to fostering the bilateral ties during her term in Vietnam, hoping the Panama diplomat would continue supporting the relationship between the two nations from her new position.
Mrs Lizia informed the PM that the cooperation in maritime services has represented a seven-fold increase since 2004.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Panama increased to US$300 million in 2008. (People’s Police, Vietnam Law)
