Ambassador Herve Bolot: France To Help Vietnam Make Satellites
The French government will increase aid funds for Vietnam for this year to US$380 million with a third to be used to manufacture small-sized satellites to help mitigate impacts of the global warming, the state-run Tuoi Tre newspaper said, citing Ambassador Herve Bolot.
Ambassador Herve Bolot told a press conference held in Hanoi Wednesday that fund, US$100 million higher than the initial sum pledged by France in late 2008, will also be invested into transport infrastructure and energy projects.
A mission of 27 French companies arrived in Vietnam Jun 8-10 to seek opportunities to invest in the country, particularly in energy, telecom and energy fields, Frederic Sanchez, chairman of MEDEF International said.
Vietnam is listed among top five countries most vulnerable to climate changes, state media said. (Youth)
